About us
Our aim, as a pre-school, is to provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment for children ages 18months-4years, where learning is fun. We have an ethos of inclusion, valuing everyone’s contributions and giving every child an opportunity to reach their full potential. Parents are valued by us as equal partners in their child’s education.
Tisbury Pre-school was first set up in 1966 in the Zion Hill Church. June Smart, Barbara Oliver and Sheila Tucker realised Tisbury needed a childcare facility for village children and their parents. Since then, it has moved a couple of times and grown in number. Ultimately, the pre-school has gone from strength to strength. In 2016 Wiltshire Council built the Nadder Centre and turned it into a fantastic community resource with a purpose-built pre-school. We moved in and have continued to
grow from there.
Our committee
As a registered charity, Tisbury Pre-school is staffed by childcare professionals who are fully employed. But, behind the scenes, we have our volunteer-run committee of trustees, who ensure the pre-school runs to its maximum potential. They support the manager, deputy manager, childcare workers and administrator to concentrate fully on the children’s needs.
